Hydrodynamical theory for equilibrium time correlation functions of hard rods

Abstract

It is pointed out that a gas of hard rods in one dimension serves as a non-degenerate example for the hydrodynamical theory of time correlation functions. The current-current correlation functions, when integerated over space, are δ(t) times the matrix of transport coefficients.
