Abstract
A multiplexer was developed specially for the direct modulation of injection lasers with 1 Gbit/sec and above. Following a brief explanation of the principle of the step recovery diode amplifier the implementation of an amplifier and a Gbit/s multiplexer are described. By means of the pulse amplifier a voltage gain of 4 is obtained at an output pulse width of 500 picoseconds.
