Abstract
The flexibility of new design composite designs brings economic benefits. The finished view from below, the wood components that act as formwork and the high level of precasting, hold building costs in check. The innovative application of high performance concrete with its range of properties opens up the way to new market shares. It allows the realization of wider spans and the manufacture of lightweight ceilings and wall constructions with good structural capabilities. At the same time, compacting errors which can contribute to failure in a fire and might impair noise insulation are excluded.
