Abstract

The development of health-monitoring-systems is of great importance for the use of the total power spectrum of fibre reinforced materials. This paper describes a new technique for detection and analysing of impacts based on the use of piezoelectric transducers. The method rends possible the detection and classification of impacts as well as the quantitative evaluation and localization of damages. It uses the results of the research of acoustic emission combined with the evaluation of characteristic values of the signals.
