Handlungsfelder zur realisierung energieeffizienter produktionsplanung und -steuerung

Today's manufacturing companies are faced with the need to reduce their energy consumption. A promising approach is to exploit untapped potentials in the area of production planning and control (PPC), as it determines the production schedule. Due to the assignment of production processes to various production resources in respect of time, the PPC considers a close link to the energy consumption of the whole shop floor. Nevertheless, energy consumption in production is not considered as a planning and controlling variable in existing target systems of PPC sufficiently. This article describes fields of action to realize an energy productive PPC and hence to reduce energy consumption as well as energy costs.
