Abstract
The timeless relevance of ground and land for an effectively operating national economy as well as for a liberally developing society is demonstrated against the background of international and national land policies. Geodesists are having the good fortune to bear central responsibility for registration, documentation, shaping and adjusting land. So it is much incomprehensible, why in Germany and many other developed countries there are so few who choose to study geodesy. This article will go into the matter.
