Abstract

The DO3 long-range order parameter S and the size W of anti-phase domains of ordered iron-rich iron - silicon alloys has been determined by elastic neutron scattering experiments. The atomic fraction of silicon was 0.076 and 0.099. During isothermal heat treatments at 663 K, respectively 623 K, S and W were followed as functions of time. S reaches its thermal equilibrium value very fast. As long as W is distinctly below its thermal equilibrium value, W increases logarithmically with time.
