Abstract

The nuclear phaseout decided by the German Federal Parliament leads especially in Bavaria to a large gap in supply of electric power that has to be closed. As important energy consumers, manufacturing companies consequently have to be enabled to sustainably reduce their energy need. The project Green Factory Bavaria provides a huge contribution. Four green factories are built up in Bavaria as demonstration, training and research platforms in Augsburg, Bayreuth, Nuremberg and Munich. Copyright Springer-VDI-Verlag GmbH & 538 Co.
