Abstract
A new method for gravity field recovery from satellites is proposed, which can be considered as a variant of airborne gravimetry. It is based on the use of implicit perturbation equations known from Celestial Mechanics. It is proposed as an iterative scheme and there is no need for analytically and/or numerically generated orbits. It is assumed that a priori information on the satellite's motion as well as measured non-gravitational and sufficiently modelled gravitational forces other than the Earth's gravitation are available. This can be assumed for the new satellite missions CHAMP, GRACE and GOCE.
