Abstract
The study investigated the primary gold deposits and the alluvial gold deposits of the Nubian Desert in NE Sudan between 31°E and 32°E., The primary gold deposits of Abu Sari, Duweishat, Saras and Umm Fahm are quartz veins enclosed in the amphibolite facies of the basement. A common feature of all the primary gold mineralizations is that the highest gold contents are found in the sheared contact zones. They acted as transport channels for the ore-bearing solutions. The microscopic and chemical analyses of the wadi sediments show that areas containing interesting amounts of native gold and scheelite are not only in relation with primary gold mineralization, but also in wadi draining areas without gold mineralization. -from Authors
