Gestaltung menschlicher zuverlässigkeit beim autonomen autofahren

Abstract

Human errors are more than 90% the main cause of traffic accidents. As a solution, therefore, the perfect automation of road traffic is propagated. But with this solution, one goes obviously into a dead end. Rather, a significant reduction can only be achieved by the simultaneous and perfectly equal parallel control of the vehicle by the human driver and the automatic function. It will be shown how such a vehicle steering could look like from an ergonomic point of view. Taking into account the current life of vehicles and the observed behavior of drivers, however, this effect can only be fully expected within a period of about 30 years and only if the use of corresponding equipment is required by law (similar to the use of the seat-belt) and cannot be turned off.
