Abstract

In this paper a method to derive lumped-element network models for distributed microwave circuits by means of system identification is presented. This procedure has been applied to a 4-port integrated transformer circuit the purpose of which is to feed an on-chip planar dipole antenna for chip-to-chip wireless communication. The resulting network topologies and elements are given and the properties of the network model are compared with the results obtained from a numerical full-wave analysis of the circuit.
