Abstract
A review is presented of heat and mass transfer and the flow behavior during the counter-flow of falling liquid films and a vapor or gas in vertical tubes, including the special case of zero gas flow. The topics considered include the flooding limits, pressure drops, and heat transfer to boiling liquid falling films. Applications of the information to practical situations are considered.
