Abstract
Decisions, which influence the economical situation of producing companies are always accompanied by risks. These risks stem from the fact, that the results gained from evaluation, on which the decisions are based, feature deviations and fluctuations. However, those fluctuations are not always accounted for during decision making. Conventional methods for evaluation are mostly unable to integrate all relevant uncertainties and neglect so-called "soft" factors. The experiences from various projects led to an approach for a holistic risk evaluation. This approach is described along its seven phases and illustrated by several examples.
