Abstract

Germany is in the context of its development cooperation since the 1990s working in the Kingdom of Cambodia, which is nevertheless open to European culture and competencies. In the article written by three experts in the country intensively involved, some multiplier successes of German assistance are presented in the three areas of cadastre and tenure/property security, land policy and land management including spatial planning and finally capacity development. Unfortunately, important further steps, for example the integrated development of rural areas, village renewal and land consolidation are not pursued in the region since the BMZ expires the far-sighted, consistently and successfully designed land rights program which was established particularly by the late team leader Franz-Volker Müller.
