Friction and memory effects in the dynamics of short-lived negative ions

Abstract

A time-dependent formulation of the non-local complex potential theory of the dynamics of electron-molecule collision complexes is presented and applied to simple models. Non-monotonic population decay and damping of vibrational motion are identified as novel qualitative effects in the dynamics of such systems.
