Abstract
Formation of H4 hypernuclei from K- absorption at rest on light nuclear targets was studied by measuring monochromatic -s from the two-body decay, H4 He4+-. The formation probabilities of H4 from He4, Li7, Be9, C12, and O16 targets were extracted to be (0.74±0.10)×10-2, (3.00.4)×10-2, (1.57±0.18)×10-2, (1.000.14)×10-2, and (0.47±0.08) ×10-2 per stopped K-, respectively. Possible mechanisms for the production of H4 are discussed.
