FOCUS - First orbital curing experiment of university students

Abstract

This paper describes the student experiment FOCUS which aims to develop, test and verify a new technology of creating ultra large structures in space by using a self-deployable, in-situ curable composite structure. The scientific aim, as well as the technical realization is presented in this paper to give an insight into the current work on the experiment. Furthermore the future applications and capabilities of the described technology are discussed.
