Abstract

Meniscus lesions negatively affect the knee function in terms of pressure distribution and knee stability. Sportive and active patients have a higher risk to suffer a traumatic meniscus rupture. To restore the meniscus function a fixation should be performed in case of a radial tear, ramp lesion and root tears of the meniscus. This article describes the different types of traumatic meniscus lesions and operative treatment options.
