Abstract

The rhenacyclobutanes 2 and 3, obtained from the oxorhenium(v) complex 1, have model character for the intermediates of olefin metathesis. Both compounds are thermally stable, and, in the 1H‐NMR spectrum, give a characteristic AX pattern for the geminal methylene protons. (Figure Presented.)
