Abstract

A fast wideband finite element/boundary integral method (FEBI) is presented. Fast boundary integral equation computations are performed by a combined multilevel Green's function interpolation method with FFT acceleration (MLIPFFT) and multilevel fast multipole method (MLFMM). This combined fast solver does not suffer a low frequency breakdown as known from ordinary MLFMM. In several numerical examples, the efficiency of this algorithm is shown.
