Far infrared magneto-optical studies of Pb1-xSnxTe

Abstract

Far infrared magneto-reflectivity and -transmission measurements were performed on Pb1-xSnxTe (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.16) in the frequency range 10 to 400 cm-1 and magnetic fields up to 60 kG in Faraday configuration (H ∥ [111]). The spectra are consistent with a model for the transverse dielectric tensor ε±(ω) based on a six band k · p band structure.
