Abstract

We present a 31-year-old patient with initial onset of paroxysmal tachycardia after exercise. Physical examination, laboratory tests, ECG at rest and echocardiography showed no pathological result. After ergometry, paroxysmal tachycardias with heart rates up to 218 beats per minute and duration of 40 seconds were documented. The required detailed electrophysiologic study showed AV node reentrant tachycardia. After radiofrequency catheter ablation the patient is free from paroxysmal tachycardia.
