Abstract

The present publication gives an introduction to an experimental approach of investigating the aerodynamic behavior of the intake used for turboshaft engines. All the work is carried out in the chair’s laboratories, a blower and a test stand for turboshaft engines for helicopter propulsion. This paper gives a complete test facility description followed by primary measurement results. The measurements on the intake are taken with free inflow as well as with distorted inflow, which is split in temperature and total pressure distortions. The results show the impact of the inlet distortions on the flow pattern in the AIP.
