Abstract
Two types of inhomogeneities for a dimer in a condensed medium are introduced. One, the correlated part, which does not underlie exchange narrowing caused by excitation transfer, and an uncorrelated part. The interplay of the correlation and exchange narrowing on linebroadening is analysed.
