Abstract
Four-wheel drive tractors with different sized tires were analyzed and field tested against two-wheel drive machines. The evaluation is based on several criteria: drawbar power, fuel consumption, drawbar pull, manoeuvrability, reverse traction, safety, soil compaction and tire wear. Benefits are discussed relative to soil conditions.
