Abstract
The anaphylaxis register enables for the first time the registration of anaphylactic reactions in German- speaking countries. The reactions are reported by clinics and practices with allergological specification in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Data of a one-year pilot phase demonstrates that the most common triggers of anaphylaxis are foods in children and insect stings in adults. In case of emergency for only 11% of the reported reactions epinephrine was used. This data shows the necessity of registration and analysis of anaphylactic reactions to achieve an improved management of patients in the future.
