Abstract

Laser Photonics Rev. 2014, 8, 450–457 DOI: 10.1002/lpor.201300204 In the original manuscript, it was not mentioned that all the fibers in the interferometric systems shown in Figure 1 were polarization maintaining. In addition, the value of the average conversion of pressure into fractional wavelength shift in Eq. (1) was obtained for a specific orientation of the fiber with respect to the ultrasound beam that maximized the conversion. Indeed, the sensitivity measurements in Ref. [] show that the conversion for the TM mode in the polarization maintaining fiber is higher than for the TE mode. Thus, the value in Eq. (1) may be attributed only to the TM mode.
