Abstract

Rheumatic disorders (rheumatoid arthrits, sarcoidosis, systemic lupus erythematosus, Wegeners's granulomatosis, relapsing polychondritis) may affect the larynx. The clinical symptoms are often unspecific, leading to delayed diagnosis. Malignant tumours should be considered in differential diagnosis with necessitating biopsy. Treatment may require interdisciplinary approach together with a specialist in internal medicine and rheumatology.
