Abstract
The producing industry and especially the aircraft industry is currently faced with various requirements like extended variety of products shorter lead times, environmental challenges, cost pressure, demographic changes, very high quality standards, integration of new technologies, high raw material prices and fluctuations in demand. To face all these requirements a methodology to develop an integrated production strategy with the focus on the aerospace industry is required. This methodology should analyse the industry sector specific factors of influence and the challenges of future production Based on that relevant fields of action for the aircraft industry can be derived. Next step will be to develop a methodology to analyse the defined fields of action. The result of the methodology should be concret recommended actions for each field of action. In addition a process should be developed which consolidates the recommended actions to an integrated production strategy.
