Abstract
This paper proposes the techniques to exploit the capability of modern power converters to operate at high switching frequencies. This is done for two reasons: i) to improve the quality of the pulse width synthesized waveforms supplied by a voltage source inverter to an alternating current machine within a microcomputer-based machine drive system and ii) to compensate for the dead time due to the data acquisition and control algorithm computation.
