Abstract
Engineering changes, i. e. changes to already released development results, are usually only roughly documented and rarely analyzed. Yet as this article points out, a systematical recording and analysis of engineering change data - as part of an Engineering Change Data Management (ECDM) - can lead to valuable information about the efficiency of the whole new product development process.
