Abstract

In 2007, a female student tutorial called Engineera was established at the Technische Universität München, Germany, in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (EI). This programme addresses the needs of female electrical engineering and information technology students. The motivation, goals and methods of the tutorial are explained in this article. A typical semester programme is outlined and the pros and cons of a mono-educative approach in a co-educative field of study are discussed. The results of the evaluation of the tutorial are outlined and discussed and, finally, future work and conclusions are also presented.
