Abstract
Titanium electrodes can be covered with thin passive films by means of anodic polarization of the electrodes at low potentials. The properties of such thin films of TiO//2 with a thickness d equals 2-12 nm have been investigated concerning the charge distribution in the film, electron transfer reactions through the film, and electrochemical reactions due to the absorption of photons.
