Abstract
The influence of apparent density and adhesive content on density profils of single layer particleboards was assessed. Pronounced differences in density profile formation were found for different mean densities. Surface density peak was found to be greatest for a mean apparent density of 0.80 g/cm3. Panels with a mean apparent density of 0.43 and 1.2 g/cm3 show a nearly homogeneous density ditribution in the cross sectional area. Higher adhesive contents (>10%) did not influence the density profil formation significantly.
