Abstract

Schneider (and the Arveitsgemeinschaft fur Vergleichende Hockgebirgsforschung, Munchen) have produced 1:10 000 maps of the Kathmandu Valley (16 sheets), and one 1:50 000 map. The spelling of names is carefully done. The 1:50 000 is much like others of Central Europe. Much care has been given to communications and cultural features of interest to tourists. It is an 8-colour map. The contours are at 40m intervals (but 20m in the main basin). Forests are shown.-D.J.Davis
