Abstract
We report a case of a patient with gustatory sweating, a unilateral hyperhidrosis following a gustatory stimulus and an accompaning thermoregulatory hypohidrosis in the same area. Unusual features in this case are a possible association with a face pain and that the causing lesion can be localized in the brain-stem by neurological-topical reasoning. Most cases of gustatory sweating are caused by damage to the parotid gland.
