Abstract
Improvement of flexibility at high productivity in sheet metal component production requires special attention to actual machine run time besides output per time unit. It is therefore necessary to reduce the setup and interference times of tools and conveying systems in order to achieve maximum availability of the equipment. As compared with conventional press lines large-component progressive presses offer distinct benefits in producing large-size sheet metal components, especially in the automobile industry.
