Efficient method for the calculation of ballistic quantum transport

Abstract

An efficient method for the calculation of ballistic quantum transport was discussed. It was found that the calculation of the energy dependent transmission function was reduced to a single calculation of some stationary states of the isolated device. The analysis showed that the size of this matrix was governed by the size of the boundary region between the leads and the device.
