Abstract

A peer-to-peer (P2P) architecture based on ObjectGlobe using a super-peer topology is discussed. Distributed routing indexes which contain both metadata and content information, supported by super-peers acting as a backbone are used. Super-peers provide functionality for the management of the indices, query optimization and, query processing. The subplans including the user-defined filters are transferred to the neighbors, where the plan optimization continues, pushing operators to the data sources.
