Abstract

Distal clavicle fractures represent an injury pattern of the acromioclavicular region and amount of 15–25% of all clavicle fractures. Most fractures can be treated nonsurgically, while the management of unstable lesions with fracture displacement and injury of the coracoclavicular ligaments can often be challenging due to high rates of nonunion. Although surgical treatment of unstable fractures is recommended, there is no technique that has been shown to be superior to the others.
