Abstract

In binary liquids a normal vibrational mode of component A is strongly excited and the relaxation via energy transfer to a normal mode of component B is studied on a time scale of several 10-12 sec. Comparison between different mixed systems indicates the importance of near resonance for efficient energy transfer.
