Abstract

This paper illustrates the concept of a low cost fixed wing flying Testbed, using only off the shelf components. Simulation results are nowadays excessively used to develop and test software for unmanned aerial vehicles. However, not every aspect of a real flight can be modelled adequately, which can pose a problem during a possible maiden flight. We want to propose a low cost flying testbed, which can be used to gain first real flight test experience for new software, without having to risk a possibly very expensive prototype.
