Abstract

A cost-effective multi-element system based on laser-induced plasma spectroscopy (LIPS) is presented for chemical analysis. The system employs a Rowland polychromator with an integrated miniaturized multichannel boxcar system for photomultiplier detection. A miniaturized multiple gated integrator system is used for signal analysis, while chromium is employed as the standard analyte. An experiment was performed to characterize the system sensitivity and the spectral band pass.
