Abstract

In case of electric vehicles a small weight and frame size of the components is of vital importance to achieve a high range. Therefore a method was developed and is presented within this paper which considers the specific requirements of electric vehicles. Further it is shown that in case of an adapted design method induction machines suit the application in vehicles as well as permanent magnetic synchronous machines. The requirements and the results are scrutinized within this paper.
