Abstract

In lots of cases, the development of Web Based Training WBT is reduced to a 1:1-conversion of the written learning material enriched by media-elements. In this paper a didactically substantiated product model for WBT is presented, which is developed on a systems engineering approach. The user requirements (students of engineering science) were analysed by interviews and questionnaire. The didactical requirements were derived from Instructional Design, Second Generation (ID2). The product model for WBT is presented for engineering science, because of the specific learning strategies. With regard to the realization of the system, a prototypical version of the product model was developed which allows an efficient integration of the subject-specific learning contents. The evaluation of a product model's didactic quality was carried out as a case study by means of different evaluation methods.
