Abstract

The work of the doctor and his technical assistant is best capable of reducing the radiation stress on the patient. It is necessary to find a reasonable relation between what is beneficial and what is possibly an unnecessary risk. This relation depends on conscientious working. A precondition for this is awareness of the present state of knowledge about the effect of ionizing rays on the organism and possibilities to reduce the dosage, which might have such damaging effect.
