Abstract

The modularization of production describes the standardization of elements of organization, production processes and resources across locations. Thereby, the modularization of production becomes hooked on the model structure of the product to be produced. By this means production processes and facilities can be reused and constitent bestpractices can be implemented factory spanned. Since the full development of standardization potentials needs an integrated view, modul and production structure have to be closely linked.
