Abstract

The Autark Hybrid of the Technical University Munich is a parallel hybrid concept for passenger cars with the aims of saving fuel and reducing emissions [1]. The drive line consists of an electric engine and a diesel engine. Both engines use the same gearbox, the i2-gearbox, which is specially designed to have a wide spreading. The necessary spreading of the gearbox with two toothed clutches and two multiple disc clutches is realised by a special powershift process. This powershift process proceeds without interruption of the traction force and is extensively not investigated. The realisation and the detailed investigation of the powershift process are done on FZG system test rig, in the complete drive line of the Autark Hybrid. This paper presents particularly current research results and approaches to improve the powershift process.
