Abstract

We report the successful synthesis and structural characterization of quadrivalent tetrahydroborate complexes of titanium and zirconium, stabilized by a chelating bis-imine. Whereas the titanium compound 3a displays an unusual η23-coordination of the tetrahydroborate ligands, the zirconium congener 3b adopts the η33-coordination known from the homoleptic complex [Zr(BH4)4].
